Game Day Predictions: Wally Buono To Play Quarterback
That's right, by the time tonight's clash between the B.C. Lions and the Hamilton Ticats, something major is going to happen. After two fairly devastating games against Winnipeg and Toronto, the Lions are going up against the league's cellar dwellers. now, most people are looking at this as an easy win for B.C. but like the two previous games that we've seen this season, something is guaranteed to go wrong.
If the Lions continue with the same kind of momentum that they've had on offense (piss and bugger all), we're more than likely going to see Wally Buono pulling on some cleats and helping out tonight. With the world's nicest quarterback currently flat on his ass after what we all know was an illegal hit, tonight's game has been put in the hands of Buck Pierce. As much as well trust him to take the team to what should be an easy win, Murphy's law suggests something else entirely. The Lions offense has been unable to sort themselves out so far this season, proving that the loss of Jacques Chapdelaine was a bigger blow than anyone expected.

An already wounded Pierce is going to be like blood in the water for a Hamilton team who is desperate for a win and for them, who better to take out for your first win of the season than the 2006 Grey cup Champions. This leads me to think that we won't see Buck for the entire game. One hard helmet to the bruised hand of Pierce and it's going to become the Jarius Jackson show.

Jackson may be the next big thing that the Lions have going on but if this trend continues, he too will be out before the game is over, leading one to ask, who's going to call the plays and get the ball down the field.  After ten years as a linebacker for the Montreal Alouettes, it makes sense then for the mighty Wally Buono to step up and finish the game. So what if he hasn't played a down since the late 1970's, Buono's fiery Italian temperament will be just the thing to fire up the anemic Lions offense. Get him going and you'll see Joe Smith, Geroy Simon and the rest of the offence pick up where they left off last year.

Seriously people, change is exactly what's needed to kick some ass and yes, it might be crazy, but isn't crazy what wins championships?
